Samsung produce high density memory, 32 UDIMMs

Samsung just push out a new 32GB UDIMMs RAM which will make storage more efficient. The company share the DDR4 memory at 2,666 MHz on their website.

The new 32GB UDIMMs will reduce machine memory slot and encourage storage on high end platform.

The DDR4 memory at 2,666 MHz will make machine to be more efficient and faster, the distinction of the 32GB is that it appear as a normal RAM (UDIMM) for desktop.

The memory has model number M378A4G43MB1-CTD and runs at 1.2V  with a dual rank configuration. Memory chips are arranged as (2Gbit x 8) x 16.

The 32GB per DIMM can install up to 256GD memory with a Threadripper CPU. A Threadripper can support up to 1TB RAM.

A motherboard has 8 DIMMs which makes the 32GB per DIMM to be the densest solution, meanwhile Intel’s Skylake Extreme Edition processors like i9-7980XE only support up to 128GB.

This exorbitant memory will makes gamers to perform better than before and also make running virtual machine on compact building more easy.

Samsung is currently sampling the new memory to third parties. It is likely that manufacturers like Corsair, G. Skill, Crucial and so on start using the Samsung new chip.
