Kogi State governor injured his left foot
According to a statement released by Kogi State Governor House on March 30, Governor Yaya Bello fall from his car and injured his left foot on Friday.
According to the statement signed by the Director General Media and Publicity,r. Kingsley Fanwo, the incident happen when the governor was waiting to receive the speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, at the Old Market area in Lokoja.
This happen when the Speaker, Dogara is in a visit to Lokoja for the burial of Me. Umar Buba Jibril, who is a member of the House of Representative, and died in Abuja on Friday.
The statement said, “The injury prevented the governor from attending the burial of Jubril. He was represented by his deputy, Mr. Simon Achuba.”
He debunk the news that the Governor was hospitalised and incapacitated, saying he was quickly attended to by his doctor and his leg was bandaged and he then discharge him.
The government then thanked the governor’s supporters for caring for the governor and have concern for his health, he continue saying the Governor is doing well and will resume work after Easter Friday.
News Agency of Nigeria report says the clarification was confirmed by a report stating that the governor was seriously injured in the incident.
A eyewitness also said that the Governor injured his leg when he was trying to alight from his BMW car, he then sprained his left ankle and his two arm.
The continue saying that the car dragged the governor some metres before his security and people came to his rescue.
