A northern lawmaker has made it known that ex-president Obasanjo has reach out to lawmakers.
He said the call for the establishment of coalition for Nigeria is gaining ground as many of the members of the National Assembly are ready to defect when the time comes.
He also said APC and PDP are not the solution to Nigerian’s problem in the letter.
The ex-president has call for coalition outside the ruling party All Pregressive Congress and the main opposition party People Democratic Party.
The lawmaker also said both present and past governor are ready to join Obasanjo move.
“It is true he has reach out to us and I can tell you that 80 per cent of National Assembly members are with him. It is very huge.
” Registration of a political party cannot take more than two weeks.
“I can tell you that out of the parties that were registered, there is one at hand – somewhat – which will likely be the focus.
” I can confirm that there is most likely to be defections from the APC in the next one month.
“There are people in the APC who are not comfortable with the party; and there are those in the PDP who are not comfortable with the party also.
” So, most likely, these will be the forces that would form the third force.”
The lawmaker also said that APC might turn out to be the minority party before 2019 election.
“There are possibility that the APC would become the minority party at the National Assembly before the elections.
” And that will put the President in a very difficult situation.
“This will happen because many APC members would not be given ticket to contest and they would likely join the third force or the PDP.
” The PDP is now wooing those in the APC.”
The lawmaker said APC coming National convention will determine the fate of the party.
